Welcome to the Teaching and Learning webpage. We appreciate this opportunity to share information regarding our curriculum, programs, projects and achievements and invite you to be a part of our services to students. Our department is designed to provide support for all learning opportunities that will increase student's achievement and foster a love of learning.
The department oversees all operations of teaching and learning, researches programs for Warren City Schools,
assists in planning programs, oversees state mandated testing programs, curriculum for gifted and talented
and provides professional development for teachers.
Our District is fortunate to have instructional specialists who are educators on special assignment working directly in our schools with teachers, staff and administrators to assist in implementing District programs. Beginning with the 2009-10 school year, these positions will be phased out and new K-8 Assistant Principals for Instruction will be added. These instruction administrators will contiune the valuable assistace provided by the insturctional specialists, inclucing the implementation of District curriculum maps and other instructional programs, but will include expanded roles in improving the instructional programs in each of our schools. (Curriculum Maps are designed to provide a pacing guide for teachers regarding Ohio’s Content Standards, upon which Ohio’s tests are based. These maps are District courses of study.)
It is an exciting time to be involved in planning for the many instructional programs that will be implemented in our new
schools.
