Congratulations wonderful students! We are VERY proud of you. I have been to, what seems like, a million graduations during my tenure as a teacher in the Warren City Schools. The speech given by this year’s valedictorian brought tears to my eyes. It is wonderful to witness students who have found an appreciation for those who have sown seeds into their lives. Michael Coates’ acknowledgement of his Quiz Bowl Team’s advisor, Ms. Kim Hunter, brought tears to my eyes. His mentioning of Ms. Hunter’s endless and selfless contributions and sacrifices for the benefit of the team simply broke me. I could hardly view the rest of the ceremony because I was crying. This young man also gave recognition to Harding’s staff and academic curriculum. Teachers don’t make a great deal of money. We understand that coming into this profession; however, the wealth we reap through our students makes us rich, indeed.
