Multiple 2012 Scholastic Art Show Winners
The 2012 Scholastic Art Show is a state and national competition where teachers submit artwork that is then judged on a territorial and national level. We are pleased to announce that Jefferson K-8 and Lincoln K-8 Schools had students picked as winners this year.
From Jefferson K-8, 7th Grader Lynn Williams received a silver key for his watercolor painting and 8th Grader Jacob Culver who received 2 keys; a silver and a gold on 2 colored photographs at this weekends judging.
Students from Lincoln K-8 School, who won awards were John Payiavlas, Gold Key for his oil painting “Grandfather,” and Gold Key for his drawing “Constantine.” William Bell, who won a Silver Key for his drawing “WTC 2001.” Honorable Mention awards Allison Hoffman, Rachel Frederick, Jazmine Harrision, Shawna Butram, Gabrielle Jones, and Da’Jahanae Provitt.
Students who received Gold Keys will travel to compete on the National level in New York city with other gold key winners.
The 2012 Scholastic Art Show exhibition runs until February 26 at the Art Outreach Gallery in the Eastwood Mall. The gallery is open Fridays 5-9 PM, Saturdays 1-9 PM, and Sundays 1-5 PM. Artworks that received a Gold Key Award will be shipped to New York in March for the National Competition.

Go Miss. Mussler and the Jefferson students for a great job on your artistic talents! Jacob do good things over a McGuffey too! For Miss. Mussler being a first year art teacher in Warren City, she makes our hallways look really nice!
