Blankets Donated to Akron Children’s Hospital

Last Wednesday, Francine McBride, the Program Education Coordinator for Akron Children’s Hospital, was at McGuffey to accept a donation of blankets for their patients. Three of our classes made blankets to donate to them. The classroom teachers are:

Kindergarten – Kim Anzevino and Marina Raphtis
1st Grade – Charla Thomas and Ashley Street
2nd Grade – Andrea Bluedorn and Stacy Harris

This project was completed under the guidance of K-3 Literacy Coach, Beth Lowe.

Also McGuffey donated 75 books to the patients at the hospital and students and families donated their extra change at our recent Scholastic Book Fair, which allowed books to be purchased the Hospital.
