On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, Mr. Thomas Sewickley, Graphic Design Teacher at Warren G. Harding, was informed that his 10th grade student, Desiree Martinez, had been named an American Vision Award National Gold Medal Winner. Desiree’s art work, Prisoners of Fashion, was forwarded to New York as an American Vision Award Winner (from scholastic art awards last month) and received this national recognition. This is the highest award possible in the nation for recognition in the fine arts and constitutes less than 1% of the 350,000 submissions. This is the third time since 2006 a WGH student received this award. (2006,2008,2017) Congratulations Desiree and Mr. Sewickley!
